    刘妍,南京医科大学药学院干细胞与神经再生研究所研究员,副所长,特聘教授,博士生导师, 江苏省杰出青年基金获得者,入选江苏省双创人才、三三三人才工程和六大高峰人才团队。刘妍博士于2011获复旦大学理学博士学位,2008年赴美国威斯康星大学从事人多能干细胞定向分化与神经再生研究。研究着重于:1. 人多能干细胞向特定神经谱系的定向分化;2.针对认知障碍在模式动物中开展细胞替代治疗研究;3.在灵长类开展iPSC自体移植治疗的临床前评估;4.应用病人iPSC开展神经疾病发病机理的研究。研究成果多次发表在Nature Biotechnology, Cell Stem Cell,Nature Protocol和 Cell Reports等国际权威期刊。刘妍博士目前为江苏省神经科学学会常务理事、江苏省双人人才协会理事、江苏省发育生物学学会理事、科技部干细胞重点研发计划评审专家、中国细胞生物学会会员、中国神经科学学会会员等,目前主持国家、省、部级多项基金,担任Stem cells等杂志审稿人、Stem cell international杂志客座编辑、国家自然科学基评议专家等。获美国专利1项。

    The main research directions of our laboratory are as follows: 1. Directional differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into specific neuronal types; 2. Application of human pluripotent stem cells for studying human brain development; 3. To study the pathogenesis of complex neurological diseases by induction of pluripotent stem cell as disease model. We have successfully directed differentiation of hPSCs to regionally and functionally specialized neural cells, which provide a model to study early neural development, pathological processes, and develop therapeutics. Based on the above studies, we are establishing iPSCs lines and reprogramming neural cells from skin tissues or blood cells of patients with neurological disorders, focusing on Down syndrome, major depression disorder and Alzheimer’s disease. This will help us discover the potential of hPSC-derived neural cells in disease modeling and cellular models to templates for drug discovery.
